About the Author

Kate Harvey is a Mum, and a Mining Engineer. After growing up in the Pilbara, Western Australia, Kate moved to Perth to complete studies and has since spent most of her career back in the Pilbara working Fly In Fly Out (FIFO) at multiple Iron Ore Mine Sites.

Kate welcomed her daughter Olivia into the world in 2021, which gave her the unique insight of mining and motherhood to draw creative inspiration from in her children’s books.  Kate personally understands how important it is for children with FIFO parents to have a connection and understanding of the work Mum or Dad do when they are away from home.
